E3 2012: Scribblenauts Unlimited coming to Wii U & 3DS
5TH Cell have taken the next step with the Scribblenauts series, allowing users to combine objects to make their own contraptions.
The original Scribblenauts allowed us to solve puzzles by spawning any object in the game world that we could think of. Super Scribblenauts expanded on that and allowed us to use adjectives; the dog suddenly became a purple, giant, striped dog. Now, on the Wii U version, if you want a giant, purple dog with wheels, an exhaust pipe and a mohawk, you can have one. Wii U Scribblenauts Unlimited players will also be able to share their creations with their friends online.
The 3DS version is missing the object creator seen in the console version, but will feature the same open universe to explore, consisting of 41 levels with more than 50 starites and 500 starite shards to collect. 5TH Cell estimates there is enough content to keep gamers amused for 20+ hours. Gamers will also be able to learn the back story to the main character Maxwell, including how he got his magical notepad. The 3DS version includes 3D cinematics and Streetpass functionality, while the Wii U version has multiplayer, allowing a friend to drop into the game using a Wii remote to take control of any object in the game.
Both titles are scheduled for release by the end of the year.
Look’s pretty neat. Can’t say I’ve seen that artwork very often.
You haven’t seen the previous Scribblenauts games? Started on the DS, got a sequel and is on iPhone now.
