Nintendo's released all the numbers you want to see about the Wii U, well most.
Nintendo is never one for releasing full on technical specifications of their consoles and the Wii U is no exception. Nintendo has released what they’re calling the technical specs but its mainly for the dimensions, what cords and ports it supports, controllers and the battery life of the Wii U Game Pad.
It isn’t great news either. It will take about 2 and a half hours to charge the controller with about 3-5 hours game time expected from it depending on the brightness of the screen. Luckily this one isn’t in 3D then.
So what about the meat and bones of the console, what makes it tick? Well the CPU is listed as a IBM multi-core CPU and for the graphics a AMD Radeon HD GPU is supplying the power. That’s about specific as Nintendo is going to get in that regard.
Good news is though that the console is indeed in HD, it supports 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and even 480i. It outputs this through a HDMI cable or component.
There’s four USB ports on the system, two on the front and you guessed it two on the back. As for internal memory? Flash memory is mentioned but not the size of it, so Nintendo will leave us to worry about that one then.
Hopefully now with the cat out of the bag in regards to E3 we will see more specific announcements about the systems features in the future.
Magnets, always with the magnets.
