E3 2012: Mass Effect 3 is heading to the Wii U

Mass Effect 3 was today confirmed to be heading to the Wii U in a very brief third party reel of developers offerings for the console.

While details were quite slim, we have been able to gather everything we know about this version of BioWare’s epic space opera series into one place. For one, Reggie himself has insisted on an interview with Spike TV immediately after the conference that the content of the game will be different to the game that many of us got to see and play back in March of this year. Finally, the game has been confirmed to be a launch title for the Wii U when it launches later this year.

Considering the nature of the Mass Effect series, one has to wonder where the logic is in bringing the final game in the franchise to the Wii U, especially when EA and BioWare have marketed the franchise and it’s impactful decisions (and subsequent consequences) quite vigourously throughout it’s lifespan. Will this element be lost by bringing only one of the games to the console?

What do you think of this announcement? Sure, more third party support is great but is this really the way we should go about it? Let us know in the comments.

Considering not one choice you make has any impact on the game at all in whatever shape or form, it wont matter what platform it was released on.. You really just miss back story and what turns out to be nothing but filer.

Surely they couldn’t of done a trilogy pack?

Doesn’t seem logical to not do a trilogy pack :S why release only the last game in a series?
