Soccer, er football legend Pel will feature as the headmaster of a made-for-Wii arcade sports game

Pelé joined Ubisoft’s MC and host of ‘The Soup’ Joel McHale on stage at E3’s main exhibition hall this morning to show off the new game which will transport players into a very Hogwarts-esque fantasy school for young soccer players. Speaking through a translator after Ubisoft’s video footage failed to play, Pelé was all smiles as he talked up his experience of working with the French developer in making the cartoon-styled sports game.

Currently on a contract with American club the New York Cosmos took the opportunity to highlight the importance of education for young people before talking up the new MotionPlus-enabled sports game. No gameplay footage was offered, but the bright colours and cartoon style of the trailer give a very clear idea of how the arcade soccer game will appear when it launches later this year. The fantasy school setting will also feature a bunch of Ubisoft properties, such as a Raving Rabbid or two, and Splinter Cell’s sneaky agent Sam Fisher.
