E3 ’09: More details on Endless Ocean 2 emerge
It turns out the first Endless Ocean wasnt so endless after all – were not complaining. The sequel to the gorgeous Wii game is officially on the way
Exploration is made even more pleasant with improved graphics, all new locations (including fresh-water rivers and ice-capped seas) and a new storyline.
That said, Endless Ocean 2 isnt quite as relaxing as the first one – expect all the fish-petting and researching to return on a bigger scale, but sharks arent so friendly anymore, and Crocodiles were never friendly to begin with. When faced with an attacking enemy youll have the option to try and calm it down or flee.
Theres a new story as well – help Oceana investigate the Dragon Song, which her father was researching… just before he died. See, theres mystery as well!
Players can sell the salvage they find to invest in an expanded aquarium and design a reef out in the wild to attract fish. You might also come across some sick or agitated fish – zap them with your tranquiliser gun to heal them up. The ability to befriend and train dolphins also returns.
Co-operative swimming with a friend over Wi-Fi returns, this time with Wii-Speak Compatibility. The game is due out in the first quarter of 2010 in the States. Keep reading Vooks for an Australian date!
