When Nintendos creative genius mentioned last year that they were "making Pikmin," it seemed certain that we would hear more about it at this years E3. Of course, when there was no mention of a new Pikmin, fans wanted to know why. When asked, Miyamoto...
When asked, Miyamoto responded "I’m sorry, unfortunately we haven’t been able to expand the team size very much, because we’ve been working on so many different games that we’ve shown off at the show. So the team is working very hard, but it’s a bit of a small team." He did note that it is indeed a completely new game and his "basic idea is that the sense of the depth of the game and the simplicity of the control will all be there."
The best we can hope for is some sort of announcement when development gets further along.
