The ability to update your Facebook with pictures from your DSi has been added with the latest firmware. Oh, and Nintendos killed off flash cards

The next time you boot up your DSi and head off to the fun filled DSi Ware store you’ll be directed to update your DSi Firmware. The 1.4 firmware adds the ability to upload photos taken on your DSi to your Facebook account. It couldn’t be easier – just take a picture, head to the photo album and tap the Facebook icon on the photo you want to upload. After you have entered your username, it’s a simple tap away to upload. It’ll even make a new album on your account “Photos from Nintendo DSi” for future uploads.

The update is available for Australian, Japanese and European DSi consoles. Americans might have to wait a bit longer. It’s probably coming in to align with the Nintendo Download update tomorrow.

Note to homebrewers: This update kills every DSi-compatible flash card on the market, so if you want the store or browser to be usable you’ll need to update but lose your flash card at the same time. There is no current work around as of yet.
