In addition to the trailer, we also got confirmation that the game on Switch, will now have Japanese voice acting, something that the original release did not have.
The trailer, which you can see below, was introduced by the series creator Yuji Horii, Producer Hokuto Okamoto, and Director Takeshi Uchikawa, give it a watch now.
The Japanese voice cast was also announced, with the members that make it up, having roles in other famous games series.
- Kouki Uchiyama as Erik
- Ami Koshimizu as Jade
- Maaya Uchida as Veronica
- Sora Amamiya as Serena
- Mugihito as Rab
- Masaya Onosaka as Sylvando
Square Enix have confirmed that the voice track is something that can be turned on or off, letting players enjoy the game in their own way. Of course, we have no word on a release outside of Japan, but given how big the series is, one can only hope. More information is due on January 1st, so just a few weeks away and a live stream is planned for later in January.
I’m not sure if this footage is actually from the switch. I’ve got it on PS4 and it looks identical. If they’ve managed to achieve the same fidelity on Switch that’s impressive.
Check out the comparisons. There is a different in the lighting and texture work overall. It is surprising to see these cutscenes so close to the original, however, we have yet to see if the graphics in gameplay are as impressive.
