Dragon Quest XI as well as Dragon Quest X are coming to Nintendo NX

Square Enix took the wraps off Dragon Quest XI: In Search of the Departed Time today during a live stream. They confirmed that the game would be coming to the Nintendo 3DS as well as the PlayStation 4 – they also confirmed the game along with Dragon Quest X would be headed to the NX. The codename for Nintendo’s next platform.

Then they didn’t.

In a press release that was posted after the event Square Enix went from ‘its coming to NX’ to a more reserved ‘We are also considering launching on the NX currently in development’. Sounds like someone at Nintendo dispatched the ninja’s as soon as they heard the news.

Dragon Quest X has already been available on the Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Dragon Quest XI was announced for the 3DS as well as the PS4 earlier today.

This now means the NX has its first two announced games, even before Nintendo themselves. Well if someone at Nintendo doesn’t kill someone at Square Enix first.

the first official NX games… kinda interesting.

I hope the support for the new console lasts longer than it did on the wii u. I wonder if EA will come out in support of NX and bail 4 months in like they did with Wii U.
