Some bittersweet news out of Japan, Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest VIII will be heading to the Nintendo 3DS later this year. The game originally released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2004 was ported to smartphones late last year, this won’t be no simple port however with the game gaining server new features and things to check out.
The game on the Nintendo will gain a whole new scenario, new playable characters as well as voice acting and an orchestral soundtrack by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. There is also said to be some form of StreetPass support.
Just good luck ever playing it here in the west, Square Enix’s track record of late localising Dragon Quest titles has been horrendous. This game is already in English so however, so don’t give up hope.
