Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training for Nintendo Switch heads to Europe on January 3rd, 2020
Nintendo Australia have confirmed that the game will see release here on January 3rd as well and will come with two options. Those who want it all, will be able to pick the game up at retail for $54.95 and will be a stylus on top of the game. Those who want the digital route, will be able to pick it up for $41.95 from the eshop.
The game features all the regular Brain Training activities you know and love, but also new ones using the IR sensor of the Joy-Con. The game also makes use of the new “Alarm” system which alerts you with the LED in the home button.
The game will also have online leaderboards for training results, and the ability to compete with friends. Nintendo also says it plans to hold regular World Brain Training Championships.
Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training for Nintendo Switch is out January 3rd, we’ll let you know when we have local details.
As much as I am anticipating this, I doubt that this will replicate the runaway success of the first game. And God only knows why they delayed Devilish Brain Training in Europe/Australia for so long (even the copyright date of the game is 2012, from memory, in spite of its 2017 release… so had they just been letting the game lay dormant for 5 years?!).
I have definitely missed many of Nintendo’s “lighter” more handheld focused franchises on Switch, and I am so, so glad this has been spared from the mobile chopping block.
I can’t wait for this too but have to admit it looks a little awkward using the stylus compared to how natural it felt on the DS. Let’s see.
