Double Dragon IV coming to Switch on September 7

Get ready to brawl — Arc System Works have announced today that Double Dragon IV is coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop on the 7th of September, a little under two weeks from today.

The retro-styled beat-em-up was initially released earlier this year on PC and the PS4, so it’s nice to see it getting a release on Switch too, considering the series’ rich history on Nintendo consoles. The game boasts a single-player campaign mode, which can also be tackled as a co-op adventure with a friend, as well as a two-player duel mode, and a (seemingly) single-player Tower Mode, which will unlock new characters depending on how long you survive.

You can watch the trailer for it below, or click here to visit the game’s official Switch website.

Hahah is this really as terrible as people say? I want to buy it because me and my friend got really into Double Dragon on his NES Classic.

Eew. You mean the rubbish port of DD1 with the awful NES mechanics and graphics that has the nerve to call itself a sequel? I’d rather have WayForward’s Double Dragon Neon instead (at least I think WF were responsible for Neon).

I might still get this, but only for $5ish. I’d rather have DD2 or the SNES games instead.
