While the Amazon listing earlier in the week essentially confirmed Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut, the game has now has been officially confirmed and details on the gameplay, graphical and fundamental improvements to the game are revealed by Eurogamer.

First things first, the game has been developed by Aussie studio Straight Right alongside Eidos Montreal. They’re calling it the ‘ultimate edition’ of the game. When you hear what’s in it, you might agree too.

The biggest problem that everyone had with the original, non-director’s cut of the game were the terrible boss battles. These have now been recreated from scratch and aren’t as focused on combat and instead use the game’s stealth and hacking abilities. The other changes to the boss battles could be considered spoilers, so we won’t talk about them here.

The other big problem with the game that has been tweaked is the energy system. In the original title, no matter how many energy cells you had unlocked you could only recharge one. The augmentations which are powered by the energy cells are one of the game’s best features and can now be used more often. However if you’re playing on the highest difficulty level, you’ll still be crippled with the one energy cell.

The game has also been enhanced graphically on the Wii U. There’s an entirely new fog system for better atmosphere, shadows have been improved – something which in a stealth game is essential. The game also now has anti aliasing, something which the Xbox version didn’t have and the developers say it couldn’t have.

Of course the GamePad plays a huge part here, with the controller now becoming an extension of Adam’s abilities. The Pad is used as a radar, map and even for the hacking mini games and punching in codes. There’s also Miiverse integration and over 8 hours of director’s commentary that can be played at any time.

Last but not least, the DLC originally available separately for the game will be built into the game’s story, weaved into the original game.

Officially there is no release date for the game yet, however the original Amazon release date is a solid guess.
