Detective Pikachu movie to be penned by Guardians of the Galaxy, Gravity Falls writers

A while back they announced a live-action Detective Pikachu was coming to the big screen. Now it looks like the writers for the movie have been pencilled in.
Variety is reporting the writers Nicole Pearlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) are up for the job. That’s some pretty good pedigree right there.
Of course there’s no director, no studio let alone actors selected at this point – so don’t get too excited.
Meanwhile we’re still waiting for the first episode of Great Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Duo to be released in the west, even Japan still hasn’t got the second installment.
