As we know, the 3DS’s tag mode allows it communicate information while the system is asleep, much like the Wii’s WiiConnect24. Satoru Iwata today introduced some ways that the feature will be utilised, including being able to send and save Miis received from other players.
Developers have also gotten in on the action, with Namco Bandai’s Yozo Sakagami and Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono talking about their ideas for integrating tag mode into their games. Sakagami mentioned it could be used in Ridge Racer 3D to allow players to exchange ghost data and rankings, while Ono is playing with the idea of making a Street Fighter where you can get a battle request wherever you are.
