Although revealed last week in the Japanese press, Capcom has today (finally) officially announced Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop for the Wii. The game has now been confirmed for a US release later this year and in the press release, a bunch of new information on the game has been released. The games graphics have been a big talking point and its been revealed that the game is running on the same engine as Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition- not the MT Framework like its 360 cousin. More inside The game naturally has Wii Remote additions added to the game, aim with the IR pointer, swing and throw anything in the mall as a weapon and shake off attacks with the Wiimote.

The games structure has changed for the Wii version as well, while the 360 version was time based and it sometimes took multiple runs through the game to see everything and do every mission, the Wii version will progress as you progress through the missions. Its a controversial choice but well see if it affects the game in the long run when it arrives. The game save system has also changed due to this gameplay change, the save system on the 360 version was very controversial with some people loving it and some people loathing it.

An Australian or PAL release for the game has not been confirmed as of yet, but were hoping to hear something soon.
