Brian Farrell also talks up Blue Tongues efforts with the game

The latest ’End Bosses’ interview is with THQ’s CEO, Brian Farrell. You can find the whole thing here, but the de Blob news is most relevant, apart from the usual "Wii doesn’t have enough core audience" business.

The de Blob sequel announced quite recently was pretty much guaranteed to see a Wii release, but it appears it may be heading to other platforms as well. "We’ve not announced anything yet," says Brian, "but obviously with a great brand like that — people love that character — taking it to other platforms, the game mechanic can be done." After states that he does ’prefer’ using a normal controller for the game, he continued, "We’ll be branching it out to other platforms — that’s a great brand to build."

A version of the original game is already out on the iPhone, with a DS title in progress, so new platforms for the game could range from the PSP through to PC. On a less worrying note, Brian also shared what he believes we’ll think about the second game.

"You’ll really like what you see," he assured. "It’s being developed by our Blue Tongue studio down in Australia. I was down there probably about three months ago and they’ve just taken it to the next level. The first one is always the first one. And now having all the technology built so that they can work solely on the creative side and production values — you’re going to love what you see."

Hopefully Blue Tongue does another great job on the Wii with de Blob 2. Just make sure you don’t map all jumps to waggle again this time.
