Apparently tired of the speculation that’s been churning on the internet recently, Vigil Games have just decided to be blunt with us and let everyone know that Darksiders II has been pushed to release worldwide in August 2012, instead of the previously set release date of June 2012. The team did not state any reasons for the delay besides “additional time for polish and to ensure all aspects of Darksiders II meets the high quality bar the team is targeting”. Which, personally, I think could not be a bad thing.
An exact date has yet to be announced for Australia though interestingly enough, Vigil have also mentioned that this change of date has nothing to do with other platform releases (Wii U, we’re looking at you) nor has it anything to do with the recent layoffs at Vigil Games.
While Vigil Games have insisted this push back has nothing to do with the Wii U version or the consoles release date – it would fall in line with previous rumours and we all love a bit of speculation. What do you think? Could we be getting a Wii U version of The Darkness II day and date with other versions? Only time will tell.
Definitively done with the Wii U now.
Because Gate Rune and Dunan Unification War is too long to fit in a title.
