Cruis’n USA is getting another sequel and it’s bound for arcades next year. The game is being developed by Raw Thrills, but you’ll also notice that there’s Nintendo logos all over cabinet. It would appear Nintendo has control of the Cruis’n brand now that Midway is defunct.
The last time we saw the Cruis’n franchise was on the Wii with the simply named Cruis’n. Before that we’ve seen titles on the Nintendo 64 and even the Gameboy Advance.
The legendary Cruis’n™ series of driving games debuted in the 90’s with the arcade smash and N64 launch title Cruis’n USA™. Cruis’n USA thrilled the world with amazing 3D realism and casual arcade fun, setting new records for income and operator ROI. Followed by Cruis’n World™, and Cruis’n Exotica™, the Cruis’n series sold over 70,000 arcade driving machines, grossing over $8 Billion worldwide.
While nowhere in the press release does this hint at a Nintendo bound release, in fact it says it’s a ‘Raw Thrills introduce Cruis’n Blast™, their first arcade exclusive release’. Stranger things have happened…
