Following last month’s reveal announcement, Big Ant’s Cricket 19 is now confirmed for a May 28 launch across Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, ready for The Ashes to begin in August for England’s summer.
Additionally, the box art has been revealed for Cricket 19‘s Aussie release, featuring Aaron Finch, Tim Paine and Meg Lanning as the cover stars. According to the artwork, the Nintendo Switch version will be digital-only, like last year’s Big Bash Boom.
Big Ant CEO, Ross Symons, says Cricket 19 will further the customisation of previous mainline cricket games.
“Big Ant Studios games have always been known for deep customisation and flexibility,” Symons said. “With Cricket 19 we take this to the next level, with even more gameplay modes, more options, more ways to play and much more customisation.”
I’ll be bee-lining towards Cricket 19‘s career mode to make up for my own lack of cricketing talent, by creating a player who can both bat and bowl!
If Cricket 19 turns out to be anything like the Don Bradman games, this will be one keep your eye on next month.
Also, if you haven’t already, I implore you to watch the McElroy brothers’ Monster Factory series where they dive into Don Bradman Cricket 14 with absolutely no knowledge of the sport whatsoever. It’s essential viewing.
