Connection Tour kicks, Video and Pictures inside!

The first Nintendo DS Connection Tour was at Chadstone yesterday, and unlike other connection tours, it was really a once-in-a lifetime event. It was Mario’s Birthday party! So to speak. The vibe was cool, the atmosphere screamed of Nintendo fanboys and there were ‘plenty’ of prizes – that is plenty of prizes for winners. They had Mario Kart DS and NSMB comps and they were quite good, especially when the competition got tough.

They had plenty of DS Lite kiosks and an awesome little retro area, which had all the Game Boys right down to the original (brick). They had the NES and SNES there, and of course the Gamecube – no one could get enough of Mario Smash Football the presentation of the event was great too, they had giant cut outs of Nintendo characters and such, and the main stage was like a set from Mario Bros.

The giant DS Lite has a giant DS Lite stylus to go with it. The competition to win Nintendo gear and games were intense and you really needed to shout or do something dramatic so you could get yourself heard. Games up for grabs including Brain Training, NSMB, etc. I really wanted to win a mario belt, but i didn’t get one. The biggest prize for me were the soccer shirts. There are only 50 in the world, and they gave away 3, one to the winner – who is a Vooks.Net member.
