Closed Beta of Mario Kart Tour reveals first look at the game

Before today, aside from a logo, we knew nothing about Mario Kart Tour. Now the game has gone out to beta testers in America and Japan and despite Nintendo asking people not to share images from it – they have. So we’re going to tell you a bit about it.

Mario Kart Tour is a more simplified version of the Mario Kart we all know and love. It’s played vertically with auto accelerating, you use finger to control the racer left or right and that’s about it.

You can only race a number of races per hour, you unlock more drivers, karts and gliders through a gacha mechanic and the rarer the drivers have better perks and stats. Keeping in mind that this game is in beta, and all the drop rates and how all the game works will be adjusted before everyone else gets their hands on it – whenever that ends up being.
