A classic level returns in Sonic Forces

Sega have released new footage for Sonic Forces, showing off classic Sonic in Green Hill Zone, the level that most people will recognise as being the starting level in most 2D Sonic games.
This footage was teased during the recent Nintendo Direct and keen eyed viewers will have spotted it, but now we get our first proper look.
The game has no set release date, but it is coming to Switch later this year, once we know more, you can be sure we will let you know.

It’s all going to come down to the physics for me. I think that’s why Sonic 4 failed, the just got the physics all wrong.
When the entire game becomes purely focused around Sonic’s speed then it doesn’t hold much interest, I’ve played some new iterations of Sonic where you might as well press forward once and go make a cup of tea and come back because he is still going on his own.
I remember when I purchased the very first sonic the hedgehog game on my master system II, it was not totally about the speed and was in essence a side scroller with a twist but kept its primary focus on fun game play not stupidity. Going 3D was bad, making it all about speed was bad. Sonic colors was good, generations was okay too.
I wish Sonic could progress in grace just as Mario has but sonic just seems so experimental and inconsistent these days and I love Sonic. :/
Hopefully Sonic Mania does sonic some justice and the team can do what others haven’t been able to do and rebuild the entire franchise. It would be great to be able to go retro graphics to new style graphics at the click of button just like Wonder Boy Dragons Trap and Street Fighter II Ultra.
This is all just my opinion of course and I am sure others will disagree with me.
