Claim your Nintendo Account User ID in preparation for Switch

While we still don’t know all there is to know about Nintendo’s online services for the Switch. We do know that the existing Nintendo Network ID is being phased out and your Nintendo Account will take over going forward.
At the moment this account is just your email, but now you can claim your username ready to take on the world when Super Bomberman R arrives and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe later next month.
Head over to your Nintendo Account profile page, you’ll see under User Information there’s a place to set your User ID.
Choose wisely as while it seems you can change it as often as you like, if you change your mind there’s no way yet to go back to your old one.
Sorry, tingle4eva is already taken.

Flomsat’s body is ready! ?
Cheers – jumped in and kept it the same as the old ID.
Why oh why is it minimum 6 characters? The dream is over.
For some reason it won’t let me capitalise the User ID, anyone else having this issue?
I wanted Tingle5eva anyway
It wont send me a confirmation email so I cannot register
It won’t send a confirmation email if u used an old/similar email address. I had to use another new email address.
I clicked your link and it just logged me into the account I made for Miitomo and Super Mario run. Does that mean I’m already setup for my Switch?
I sure hope so… I have the same problem
You can also if your a parent supervise your child account in preparation to.
Thanks for the heads up! Even though my Nintendo Network ID was Batguy, and my user nickname was Batguy, there was a risk that I would have missed out and had to Batguy1 forever on Nintendo platforms (well, until they change their mind again). But it’s all sorted now, and remain Batguy across all consoles!
