According to EA Sports boss Peter Moore the companies focus on the Wii and casual games made some staff want to leave

In a new interview Peter Moore, the boss of EA Sports has revealed that some staff at EA Sports has found accepting the Wii and casual gamers too difficult, in some cases even leaving the company.

Speaking at a keynote Moore has said that "In all the games we made, everything was focused on making things more realistic," this was before the Wii came along of course: "Each year – particularly at the beginning of a cycle – sports games were used to show how realistic video games had become. Staff were too stuck in their ways, make games for the ‘Core’ gamer and didn’t want to try something new and make games for a bigger audience. "It was hard. A lot of people at that time thought they would move on from our studios – they wanted to chase the core consumer."

We’ve know for a while theres a strong contingent of gamers out there who haven’t taken the ‘change’ to an expanded audience well, and now we learn about game developers who don’t like it either. Is this a problem or will developers just have to learn something new?
