One of the most revered entries in the Castlevania series seems destined to be released on the Virtual Console, but will it be translated?

Even more Virtual Console games have been rated by a local classifications board now, with both Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Ironclad receiving ratings. Both of these have never seen a release outside of Japan in their original format, so perhaps we have another Hanabi Festival on the way?

Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is a PC Engine CD game originally released in Japan in 1993, and as such includes some nice CD-quality music. The only time this game has been seen outside of Japan was on The Dracula X Chronicles for PSP, on which it was fully translated into English. Hopefully the Virtual Console release will incorporate this.

Originally planned for a North American release, Ironclad ended up staying in Japan. The game would actually work perfectly well on NA systems, with a full English translation included on the disc. This means we shouldnt have to worry about that when it arrives on the Virtual Console.
