Anyone who’s played Super Mario 3D World might just be familiar with Captain Toad, the green star hunting Toad who had his own special stages to play.

The great news is he’s getting his very own game! In Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, the gameplay mechanics are rather simple to start. Captain Toad walks at a steady pace to collect treasure but he lacks the ability to jump. This means players need to find the right path to the treasure whilst avoiding enemies.

This time there seems to be a lot more enemies, along with different environmental elements to get past too. To help him on his way it looks like Captain Toad can pick up special items like a pickaxe that allows him to smash through blocks, clearing the path ahead.

Toad can also pick up weapons to defend himself against his attackers, and just as well because it looks like there might be some boss fights involved.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is set for release this holiday season.

Stay tuned to Vooks for more on Captain Toad as it arises.

Video games are not my forte. I'm not very good at video games. If you walked up to me in the streets and exclaimed “Hey! You suck at video games!” I would not call you a liar. They are, however, one of my favourite things and classic Nintendo titles are what I like best. Sure I haven't finished New Super Mario Bros. U yet and I've had the game since launch, but that doesn't mean I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as you when I play it.
