Capcom shows off what a little beast the Nintendo 3DS is

The first trailer for Residen Evil: Revelations for the 3DS looked brilliant. That’s because it’s running the same engine as its big brother Resident Evil 5. The MT Framework engine has been pushed and shoved onto the console and it can pull off some great effects.

HDR (top off, bottom on)

Colour Correction (top off, bottom on)
Motion Blur (2D only) (top off, bottom on)
Depth of Field (top off, bottom on)
Normal Mapping (top off, bottom on)
Surface shaders, self shadowing (top off, bottom on)

Capcom has shown a series of screenshots off with various effects turned on and off to show just what the 3DS is capable of. Things like HDR, Self Shadowing, Normal Maps and Depth of Field are on show and it’s funny that the Wii is unable to do some of these things.

Capcom has said that Revelations won’t be out for a while, but they certainly have the graphics down alright so far.
