With the release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom here, a spokesperson from Capcom Japan, Ryoto Niitsuma, has detailed his thoughts on the Versus series.
"Well at Capcom it’s our goal to bring fighting games to all systems and all types of players, because we already had Street Fighter IV which came out for the 360 and the PlayStation 3, we wanted to do something for the Wii," said Mr. Niitsuma when asked why Capcom chose the Wii to host their latest fighting title. He concluded by stating that Capcom strives to create fighting games for all systems.
Hoping for another Versus game in the near future? Well, it seems the charts will decide. According to Mr. Niitsuma, whether Capcom develops another Versus game in the coming years will come down to the success of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
