President of Camelot, Hiroyuki Takahashi, has stated that he would be pretty keen to work on a Donkey Kong title in the future.

He believes such an undertaking “would prove really interesting”, praising the series for being “full of surprises”. He made particular reference to Donkey Kong 64 (a.k.a. one of my favourite games ever), noting that he “would love to make a sequel” for it.

Camelot’s relationship with Nintendo goes back to the Nintendo 64 days; they have been responsible for many Mario sports titles, the latest being Mario Tennis Open on the 3DS, and a handful of Golden Sun games.

Do you think Camelot should work on Donkey Kong, or is the franchise best left to more experienced hands like Retro Studios?
