Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released in the November of 2007 on nearly every platform except the Wii (Xbox 360, PS3, DS, and PC), but will finally be getting a Wii port this November by Treyarch (developers Call of Duty 3 and World at War for the Wii). This fourth entry in the Call of Duty series has proved to be extremely popular among gamers, currently the second-highest played PC game on Xfire behind World of Warcraft.

The Wii version (being worked on by 25-30 people) will be getting the same original campaign (including audio, CG, and AI), with extra content promised as well. The DLC packs available in the original are still under question, though.

Unfortunately, the game’s online will have a player limit of only 10 and no WiiSpeak support to be seen. The friend code system is said to be enhanced, however, and the connection rate improved from the last game. Players will be able to invite friends to play with them, also.

As you can see, graphics seem to have taken a very big hit in this port. To make matters worse, the developers are looking to lock the frame-rate at 30 fps. Control-wise, multiple control options will be available, with the developers going as far as saying that it will out-do The Conduit’s controls. The MotionPlus has been confirmed to not be in use, but the only purpose for it in a standard FPS like this is offscreen tracking, anyway.

With Call of Duty World at War (the last game in the series) getting over 1 million Wii sales worldwide, this port of Modern Warfare seems likely to be a success when it releases on November 10th.
