Nintendo Australia have today confirmed that the last adventure for Boxboy will happen on March 24, when Bye-Bye Boxboy! is released on Nintendo 3DS, via the eShop. If you are not sure what Boxboy is all about, you can get the first two games, but there is also a brand new Boxboy! series demo, which provides players with a selection of levels from the first two games, as well as a few from the upcoming release.
Bye-Bye Boxboy! is packed with more than 180 puzzling levels to solve and four planets to explore. On each of the four planets, Boxboy will encounter a Qbaby, a lifeform very similar to Boxboy and these Qbabies will require your help to guide them to safety and once you do, you will be rewarded with all new box-types.
For the first time in the series, Bye-Bye Boxboy! also features amiibo functionality. Players can use Kirby Collection amiibo figures* to unlock additional costumes and dress Qbby up as Kirby, Meta Knight, Waddle Dee or King Dedede. The Kirby, Meta Knight and King Dedede amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. Collection will also unlock the respective costumes for those characters.
If you want to get your very own Boxboy amiibo, Nintendo Australia will be selling them direct, via their eBay store starting from March 24th, though for those that are collectors, you should note that the box will be the Japanese packaging.
