Brilliant news, everyone! Bravely Default: Flying Fairy for the 3DS is finally on its way to North America, Europe, and both Australia and New Zealand.

After a successful release in Japan and a few teaser details regarding localisation emerging here and there, the Silicon Studio developed title has now been confirmed for the West.

In the latest Nintendo Direct it was announced the game would arrive in Europe later this year. Shortly after this announcement an Australian and New Zealand release were confirmed. Surprisingly, it’ll be washing up on our shores before the end of this year whilst North America will have to wait until 2014.

Bravely Default has been described by its producer as a classic-style RPG. The game utilises turn-based combat and features a job system similar to Final Fantasy V, with each job being tied to special crystals which unlock even more jobs. The game is so crazy about jobs that even the enemies in the game have fulltime occupations.

The main story will be based on four characters, sub-scenarios, and job collection. To top it off, Silicon has included multiple endings for maximum replay value.

Once again, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be released in both Australia and New Zealand this year. Nintendo and Square Enix will also be teaming up to publish it.

So how do you feel about this classical-inspired RPG being localised? Leave your thoughts in the comments below or on our community forums. In the meantime make sure you check out the trailer of the game below. While it doesn’t reveal much, it still shows off some impressive visuals and a glimpse of the gameplay.

I’ve been writing about video games since 2006 and playing them since I was a kid. I started out with a copy of Mario & Yoshi on the Game Boy and before I knew it was in debt to Tom Nook. These days I spend much of my time trawling the eShop for the latest downloadable hit.
