Samus’ next mainline venture on Wii is bringing something new to the formula – drama. Whilst this new trailer may lack the laser-blasting, space pirate-bashing action that Metroid fans crave, it certainly gives us a glimpse of the dramatic tone Nintendo and Team Ninja are aiming for.
The cutscene heavy game will explore areas of Samus’ past that have remained untouched in other Metroid games, striking a balance between the usual ‘explore and collect’ gameplay and anime-inspired drama sequences. This trailer comes in the wake of an influx of new media from Nintendo’s media events last week, and we’re expecting plenty more promotional material that show the more action-oriented aspects of the game to appear in coming weeks.
