Big Bash Boom is finally out this week and we started to work on its bargain guide, but noticed the game isn’t listed in this week’s catalogues, indicating that there won’t be a traditional physical release.
Three retailers currently list the game; the Big Bash League official store, EB Games and The Gamesmen. EB Games, which comes with an exclusive steelbook case, lists the Switch version listing with the following text;
This product is a digital redemption code and is physically shipped to you. This product code is not provided by e-mail.
The BBL store and Gamesmen listings do not specify the game format as physical or digital.
Following up with Big Ant, a representative confirmed that the game box will include a code to download the game from the eShop instead of a cartridge. This game box will be available to purchase from EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, and independent retailers such as The Gamesmen. Department stores Target and Big W will not be stocking Big Bash Boom. Of course, the game will also be available to purchase directly from the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Regardless, we’re still keen for cricket on Switch, as we’ve been following Big Bash Boom since its announcement, including a great interview and preview from PAX.
Big Bash Boom releases this Thursday, November 29.
Predictions time once again.
More than 450 games added this final week.
