According to a recent report, representatives for The Beatles are in talks with both Activision and MTV, responsible for Guitar Hero and Rock Band respectively, to expand the licensing for The Beatles’ tracks to video games. The deal is alledged to be worth “”several million dollars”” if industry sources are to be believed. This comes as a milestone for the music and video game industry, as it would be the first time that Apple Corps and EMI (the two companies in charge of the licensing rights) would let the band’s music go digital. More inside iTunes has been attempting to pocket the band for a long time now. It was not mentioned if the songs will be downloadable content or just another disc based addition similar to the upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
