Bargain Roundup: Captain Toad’s Aussie Deal Tracker
Happy New Year! Well it will be once Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launches here in Australia January 3rd. Yeah we know it was delayed for no good reason but lets start the year on a positive one and hope it never happens again.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a budget title but there’s still a ton of gameplay here and especially a bargain at the lower price point.
Some stores have started the selling the game already as they received stock of it even before Christmas (making that release delay even more annoying) so you might be able to find a … Big store selling it already.
Well.. here’s the list, not much on offer.
Big W
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $68 – Link
For some reason Big W have the game above the RRP in their latest catalogue. So probably a mistake.
EB Games
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $59.95 – Link
K-Mart
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $49 – Confirmed by readers
Gamesmen
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $59.95 – Link
JB Hi-Fi
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $59 – Link
Mighty Ape
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $54.99 – Link
Target
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – $48 from Jan 8 to Jan 21 – Link
The above prices were valid as of the 30th of December 2014 and may have changed higher or lower. Let us know in the comments if you notice any changes or new deals and we’ll add them to the list.
Why no Kmart/Target prices?
Its $49 at Kmart
Seems to be the same price as digital for this one! Might grab it there as I’ve got stacks of credit left from EBs 20% Nintendo credit deal
I’ve had my copy since last Friday, picked it up at Big W
Where did you find $49 at Kmart? I’ve checked website and catalogue no prices
My local Kmart had it on the shelf today for $49, however when I went to pay the lady said an error came up because it was on embargo. She then took all copies off the shelf. EB said street date hadn’t broken.
I really think Target are dropping Wii U. For the last few months their Wii U shelves have been extremely barebone. My local Target got rid of their Wii U Demo unit, and they didn’t even bother stocking Super Smash Bros.
K-Mart is not much better.
Big W is the only store that consistently has the cheapest Wii U games. Go there first. As mentioned above, their $68 price for Captain Toad is likely a misprint. Even all their regular Wii U games are $58, not $68.
Can confirm Kmart is selling Captain Toad for $49, as I have just bought it now.
Can confirm as well kmart has it for $49. Just got it 1:00PM 3/1
been to 6 stores in WA including Kmart, EB, Target and Big W and none have it..
Target will be selling Captain Toad for Wii U for $48 from 8 January.
I just bought it from Target for $59.
Guess what. I am taking it back for an exchange.

.
I did the same thing, and I’m an employee 😛
JB price matched K-Mart for me, $49, game itself is great fun.
I took my $59 copy of Captain Toad to Refunds at Target, and they cashed it in.
Then went to the gaming section and there were no spare copies left !!!.
Target did not have many copies originally, and what was left was quickly snapped up at the new $48 price. That’s baiting when the sale goes on and there is no new stock available.
Anyway, I told the helpful sales assistant that someone had just returned a copy in Refunds, and he went and got it.
So all in all, I got my own copy back with a net refund of $11.
Luckily the store had run out of security seals, as I may have inadvertently opened the pack with seal, and invalidated my refund. Customer service at Target was really good about it all.
I found a copy of the game available at my local JB of $54, albeit was a temporary deal.
