Axiom Verge sequel announced for Switch

Once more into the breach

Thomas Happ rounded up this morning’s Indie World presentation with a new announcement: Axiom Verge 2 is on the way.

A sequel to the 2015 smash hit metroidvania game, Axiom Verge 2 is set to explore the origins of the Axiom Verge universe. Not much else is known about the game at this stage, but it looks absolutely wonderful. You can watch the announcement trailer below, thanks to our friends at GameXplain.

It has been revealed, that in terms of story it is actually a prequel, so while the game will have a similar feel to the first, the story will be very, very different

Axiom Verge 2 is set to launch on the Switch in US Autumn 2020, which is Spring for us south of the equator.
