Australia’s finally getting the Zeraora distribution in Ultra Sun and Moon

Last year, the rest of the world got access to the latest (at the time) Mythical Pokemon, Zeraora, through a download code available at a number of retailers. Some of you might remember that Australia wasn’t so lucky — but things have changed.

Vooks has learned that, during the month of May, EB Games stores will be offering a download code for the electric Mythical Pokemon Zeraora, to be used with Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The distribution will be available in-store from the 3rd to the 26th of May, and the codes themselves will be valid until the 10th of July. No purchase will be necessary to receive the code. It often takes a little time for these distributions to make their way to every store, so if your local EB doesn’t have them yet, try again after a few days.

Back in November, after several weeks of back and forth between Nintendo Australia, The Pokemon Company International, and EB Games, Vooks reported that the distribution of Zeraora would not be distributed by EB Games. This is despite the official Pokemon Australia website at the time explicitly saying that it would be.

After the website was edited to remove all mention of EB Games, some of our readers were able to snag codes by emailing TPCi directly. Thankfully, with this new distribution at EB, Pokemon fans won’t have to jump through as many hoops.

It is a little strange to see a Mythical Pokemon distribution come 18 months after the game in which it premiered was released, and even stranger that it comes after the next main-series release has happened. Waiting a little bit longer for certain content is not unusual for Australia — it happens to movies all the time — but hey, even if it took 6 months, at least it’s finally (almost) here.
