Australian Nintendo 3DS Event Launch Report

The 3DS launched to the public last night at a big event in Melbourne, full report

Nintendo Australia launched the Nintendo 3DS to the masses at the Nintendo Experience Store last night in style. The there was a ton of people in attendance and everyone was buzzing to get their hands on their own Nintendo 3DS finally! Games and accessories were selling fast before the system launch with Street Fighter IV being the top seller, so much so that it had sold out by 11:57. Most people walked away with a game and an accessory pack for their new system on the night.

But the system didn’t go on sale until the stroke of midnight, so before that and rapid buying of games and accessories Nintendo put on a show like they usually do with tons of freebies like mugs, lanyards and even T-shirts. The ever awesome Jamie was MC for the night and kept everyone in high spirits and making the wait not seem as long.

After a big countdown the system went on sale at midnight to a cheering and hollering crowd, the Nintendo 3DS had finally arrived. Things went smoothly with people actually picking up a console having had to prepay for their preorder. Cool story of the night had to be about the female Link in cosplay. She picked up the Nintendo 3DS door prize despite not even having a preorder!
