More news from the world of Nintendo and anti-piracy, as we learn that $1.5 million worth of pirated Nintendo goods have been seized by Aussie customs. Among the goods were counterfeit Wii Remotes, Nunchucks and even Wii games. Thats not all though, with a ton of DS flashcards also among the goods.
Nintendo has been on a roll this year with several cases against different forms of piracy and copyright infringement. Foremost of these has been the huge case of New Super Mario Bros. Wii being uploaded to the internet before retail release late last year. In that case, a huge seven-figure settlement was drawn in favour of Nintendo. There was also the case against a retail outlet in Australia for selling flashcards, resulting in a store owner copping a big fine.
Its great to see these counterfeit products getting intercepted before they can reach the streets and into someones unsuspecting hands.
