Last night Nintendo announced the Wii U Virtual Console, what we didn’t find out is how much the pricing would be for Australia. Today we have that information as well as the pricing for ‘upgrading’ your Wii Virtual Console titles to be on the Wii U properly.

You can already play your Wii Virtual Console games on the Wii U in Wii Mode (if you do the transfer) but if you want to play them on the GamePad in Wii U mode then there’s a small fee. The upgrade also includes customisable controls and save states much like the Nintendo 3DS has.

Here’s the pricing for Australia and New Zealand;

  • NES titles: $AU 6.50 / $NZ $8.50
  • SNES titles: $AU 10.40 / $NZ 13.60
  • GBA: tbc

The ‘upgrade’ pricing is as follows;

  • NES titles: $AU 1.30 / $NZ 1.70
  • SNES titles: $AU 1.95 / $NZ 2.55

The Wii U Virtual Console will launch officially in Autumn, however until then you can pickup a range of titles at .30c each month with the Famicon 30th Anniversary specials.

What do you think of the pricing?
