Australia missing out on Metroid: Samus Returns Limited Edition

Not only was Metroid: Samus Returns a surprise announcement itself, but during the Treehouse Live demonstration of it Nintendo also showed off a limited edition version of the game.

Sadly we can confirm that Australia will not be receiving a limited edition of the game. Nintendo Australia confirmed the news to us this morning.

However there is good news, while the American limited edition might not be able to play on our systems, the European version will. Europe is getting a limited edition as well, with better contents and will work on Aussie systems. The European version has the following;

• Physical copy of the game
• Download code for Metroid II: Return of Samus (3DS Virtual Console)
• SteelBook case
• sound-selection CD featuring 25 tracks from across the Metroid franchise
• gold “S” pin badge
• Morph Ball 3D keyring
• 40-page artbook.

The American version of the limited edition has just the game, the CD and reversible cover.
