Aussie Bargain Roundup: Super Mario Odyssey
Just over a year ago we’d never even seen Super Mario Odyssey and now it’ll be in stores this week! There’s a lot of excitement to this one, and rightfully so – the Switch could have another game of the year contender and it hasn’t even been out a year itself.
We now have all the prices locked in for all the stores we usually cover, Big W has the cheapest copy of the game itself, Target is just $2 more but it won’t be in their catalogue so you’ll have to wait for proof until launch day.
Notes: As always if you see a cheaper price let us know here in the comments, on Twitter or Facebook. Don’t panic! Our guides are prepared a couple of weeks before release, retailers usually don’t put the current catalogues on their website to the week of release. We’ll keep the guide updated with links so you can price match if you need to.

I hope fire emblem warriors on the Switch’s price lowers aswell. I don’t want to pay much for that game.
I believe EB has an exclusive preorder physical hat included too.
EB Games is essentially selling a $11 hat here, which… for Nintendo merch is actually pretty good!
EB have it for sale separately for $35 now and I don’t see it for pre-orders anymore.
Thanks for this. Exactly what I was looking for as I try and decide where to order from or to buy on the online eshop.
I think there’d be value in listing any outlets that have discounted eShop vouchers between now and release for those that want to buy digitally (since it’s always so damn expensive).
EB’s pretty much the one franchise that will sometimes offer eShop cards at a discount (roughly twice a year), and their last promotion (15% off) ended last month.
Damn, I missed that. 🙁
I just went into EB at TTP in SA, and the signage for the 15% off was still up despite it expiring at the end of September. I asked the cashier and he told me they’ve extended the deal since Odyssey is about to come out. Got $90 in cards for $76.50 🙂
I took this scan to EB Games and they matched Big W’s price of $529 on the bundle and I paid in full but I still have $20.95 showing as owed on the day until I can prove on the day that Big W is indeed selling for that price. I hope they don’t stiff me otherwise I will get a refund and head for Big W. (I use an EB rewards card).
EB will match BigW – even if it was a preorder. Get the staff member to look it up in-store when you go to pickup, or take your phone and do it for them.
They can only apply the price match on the day of pickup.
They’ll stiff you if Big W doesn’t have stock and EB staff know about it.
My local Big W told me they don’t get copies of games until a week after release.
Why does target have the Wedding 3 pack amiibo bundle for $49 and the individual amiibos for $15 each? Makes it cheaper to buy them individually ($45) than in the pack.
Aus eshop have it as a preload price of $79.99.
Just grabbed mine at BigW Brisbane CBD along with about 20 fellow switchers .
So excited!!
Target Eastgardens had no Amiibo (or knowledge of them) this morning. Ended up buying them for $17 at Big W instead.
EB Games won’t give you the hat if you price match Big W for preorders.
EB Games didn’t give me a hat even though I paid full price for my preorder. They claimed they ‘run out’.
