Fire Emblem never really launched at “bargain” prices. Its appeal is much too limited for retailers to want to take such a hit on whatever little profits that these games will yield. I remember Awakening was only ever available for full price when it launched (still is), and I think I ended up buying it from Beat The Bomb who had it for about $62.95. I’m not particularly keen on Musou/Warriors games, though this one may turn me around (I doubt it though). I *may* have even considered skipping this if not for the 3-disc soundtrack. Fire Emblem has amazing music so I couldn’t possibly resist, and the fact that we’re getting 3 CDs this time makes the deal that much sweeter. I wish more games would follow suit as soundtracks are about the only thing that will guarantee a pre-order from me. I’m not interested in all of the trinkets and space-hogging junk that Limited Editions otherwise contain.
I just got off the phone with my local target and they said the switch version should be $74 Which is disappointing.
It’s still better than $90.
JB’s at $89 sucks. I thought they at least come through with most decent price.
I am keen for this game but I will wait to see how long the game is. Most Musou style games are over in just 6-10 hours other than Dragon Quest Heroes but still that is rare. So I will wait and see what a few people clock in at on howlongtobeat. 89.95 better be a damn 20+ hour Musou game…
Can confirm target is selling for $74
Avoid Big W guys: game is scanning at $79
