All publication services of PAL games by Atari have been purchased by Namco-Bandai, in a move that sees the formation of a new global distribution entity ‘Namco Bandai Partners’ will be the company’s new name, and will be responsible...
‘Namco Bandai Partners’ will be the company’s new name, and will be responsible for properties such as Codemasters and Bethesda. The new corporation will sweep in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, and most west European countries.
Europe’s president of Namco Bandai, Shu Takahara, made the announcement today- “We are very proud to have a greatly increased international presence following the creation of NAMCO BANDAI Partners. The goal of the new organization is to make our products appeal to a wider audience, and also provide an effective distribution service which reaches the widest possible international market.”
The completion of the global take-over process comes hot on the heels of Namco-Bandai’s snatching away of the valuable ‘Dragon Ball Z’ franchise rights from Atari. Let’s hope that the incorporation of Atari Australia into this new larger company has the potential to lift their game when it comes to local distribution of software for Nintendo platforms.
