Soon, Europe – and we’re hoping Australia – will see the WiiWare release of the Art Style games. The three minimalist puzzle titles in the series are Art Style: Rotohex, Art Style: Cubello and Art Style: Orbient; two of which are remakes of GBA games. In Rotohex, a remake of the GBA’s ‘Dialhex’, players must form hexagons of a solid colour (known as a ‘hex’) by rotating into place and combining coloured triangles which fall from the top of the screen. More inside A set number of ‘hexes’ must be created in order to pass each stage. In Orbient, a remake of the GBA’s ‘Orbital’, players control a white star which grow larger by absorbing blue stars and collecting small, grey stars to form orbiting satellites. In Cubello, an original game, players launch coloured cubes (aimed by the Wii Remote pointer) at a floating, rotating 3D object called a ‘cubello’. A cubello consists of many coloured cubes, which can be removed by matching four or more of the same colour. The aim is to reveal the cubello’s inner core and do this with a limited amount of cubes.
All those interested should get their Nintendo Points ready November 21st, if it is indeed released down under. We’re buddies, right Nintendo?
