Aonuma and team still working hard on Zelda for Wii U

After the 30th Anniversary of Super Mario is done at the end of this year it’s time for the Legend of Zelda’s shot.

So what do Nintendo have in store for the anniversary? Well we know the Zelda game for the Wii U is still on the way – but what else?

In classic Aonuma fashion he’s not saying much;

This year we wanted a Majora’s Mask concert, so it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year. However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds. That being said, we hope something will take form for the 30th anniversary. It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year.

Sounds like Aonuma and his team are a little busy, so how’s the game coming along? ‘

We’re doing our best. Everyday we improve it bit by bit. It is something that requires plenty of time, however, so please believe in us and wait.

Very very busy.

    Look, if they release this as a launch title for the NX, that would be cool with me. I think the NX deserves a killer app at launch and this would help a lot. I think the Wii U is a lost cause now.

      Problem mostly with that is that its been in production for so long for wii-u. Considering the NX is rumoured to be a lot more powerful and using leading class chips, it more than likely would have to be rebuilt ground up (including the graphics).

      Its the more logical decision to finish this one and move on to a new Zelda focused on the new console and hardware.
