Animal Crossing celebrates its 15th anniversary today

Happy Anniversary to Animal Crossing, it’s 15 years old today!

If that seems longer than you remember, that’s the 15th anniversary of the original release of the game on the Nintendo 64. That’s Animal Forest or Dōbutsu no Mori as it’s known in Japan. The game was released in JApan on April 14th 2001.

We didn’t get the game, Animal Crossing on the GameCube until years later in October 2003. Feel sorry for Europe though, they didn’t get it until 2004.
