Just how far will Nintendo take the money grab?
We didn’t think there was any doubt here, but Nintendo and DeNA have confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that both Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing on smartphones will be free to play.
We pretty much knew this already, Nintendo has said it in the past and both Miitomo and Pokemon Shuffle have free to start already. However with the reconfirmation it does raise the question just what will be purchasable in the games and how far will Nintendo take the concept.
Nintendo has been fairly soft on in-app-purchases and downloadable content both on its traditional platforms and mobile already with Miitomo. Both Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing for mobiles are being billed as ‘pure game applications’ so it’s possible this might change.
Both games should be out by March 2017.
Gotta go fast.
It is a Holiday Gaming Extravaganza
Some really great deals.
